Written and facilitated by Catherine O’Riordan (MBACP / UKCP)
I am a developmentally based, relationally focused Integrative Psychotherapist and Supervisor based in Nottingham
The aim of the day is to explore experientially and conceptually how to nurture the ‘adult’ self, whilst at the same time helping the client, as an adult, to process childhood traumatic memories, at the same time helping them to liberate their ‘eternal inner child’ or 'true self'.
This approach is deeply person centred as well as dynamic and seeks to facilitate the growth of the whole adult person whilst working with their various developmentally arrested inner child parts.
Drawing on my clinical experience and research as well as various humanistic and psychodynamic literature, I share my clinical approach to inner child work and provide you with the opportunity to understand and integrate this model into your own approach.
In a confidential space you will explore:
How to nurture your adult self
Your own experiences of connecting with your ‘wounded inner child’
How to identify your 'eternal inner child' or 'true self'
How to work in this way with clients within the context of your specific work setting.
Prior to the workshop I will invite you to complete a short pre-workshop assignment around your wounded inner child and this will help prepare you for the workshop day.
Following the workshop resources like handouts and a bibliography will be emailed to participants.
To book please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I also deliver this as a closed workshop to organisations.
